The real cost of a worn bore

The repair is rarely the expensive part. The downtime is.

When a pin bore or bearing housing wears oval, the usual fix means stripping the machine and sending heavy parts away. Every day it waits is a day it doesn’t earn.

1

Dismantle, lift and ship

Booms, buckets, frames and housings have to come off, be craned and transported to a workshop and back.

2

Machine stands idle

Excavators, loaders, cranes and vessels sit out of service while the part waits in the workshop queue.

3

Two trades, two visits

Welding up the worn bore and re-boring it are often done by different shops, adding handling and lead time.

The PB-300Super answer

Weld it up and bore it back to size — with one machine, in place

The same bar, bearing supports and drive handle both welding and machining, so the bore is rebuilt and finished without moving the workpiece.

1

Line boring

Machines bores from Ø40 to 300 mm with stepless 55–255 rpm and automatic or manual axial feed.

2

Automatic bore welding

Spiral welding builds up worn bores Ø45–160 mm with CO2 and 0.8 / 1.0 / 1.2 mm wire.

3

Sector welding

Rebuilds only the worn part of the circumference instead of the full bore.

4

Jump welding

Built-in jump welding function for interrupted weld passes inside the bore.

5

Flange facing

Optional face tool holder machines flange faces Ø120–130 mm, feed following the spindle.

FAQ

Questions engineers ask us

What can the PB-300Super do?

It combines five functions in one portable kit: line boring from Ø40 to 300 mm, automatic bore welding from Ø45 to 160 mm, sector welding, jump welding, and optional flange facing. It is used to rebuild and re-machine worn bores, pin housings and bearing seats where the equipment stands.

Why repair a worn bore on site instead of in a workshop?

On-site line boring and bore welding avoid dismantling, lifting and transporting heavy components, so the machine returns to service sooner and downtime costs are reduced. Use the savings calculator above with your own figures.

How is the machine mounted?

Bearing brackets (Ø55–270 mm) are fixed to the workpiece by welding, and centering cones (aluminium Ø55–105 mm, iron Ø100–164 mm) align the Ø50 × 1,600 mm boring bar with the existing bore.

Which welding machine and wire does it use?

It works with a 210–500 welding machine using CO2 gas and 0.8, 1.0 or 1.2 mm wire, performing spiral bore welding, sector welding and jump welding.

Can I rent it or hire an on-site service?

Yes. INSITOOLS offers the PB-300Super as an on-site machining service, as an equipment rental, or for purchase with operator training, for customers in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines.
